For those of you that don't know, I have been growing my hair out for a little over a year and a half now. Initially, it was just for fun but somewhere along the way I decided I would donate it to Locks of Love. Needless to say, my hair is almost at ten inches and it is getting close to clipper time!

Since Locks of Love is a donation to kids, I figured why not combine what I am doing with a charity fundraiser for kids! This is where I decided to organize a fundraiser for Children's National Medical Center in DC. This is an internationally recognized hospital and also is pretty close to where I grew up! (Yeah MoCo!)

The donations will support the hospital's Kid's Care Fund which responds to the basics needs that are often taken for granted, but are essential to a child's care. The Fund provides for programs such as Child Life specialists who work with the children's families, art therapy programs, uncompensated care and community outreach. Also, one of the most important aspects of this fund goes towards ensuring that Children's National Medical Center continues to keep it's door open for every child in the region for years to come! I realize that money may be tight for you, whether or not you are either in college, fresh out of college or just economy-affected like most people, but just think how far it would go if each person that I contact donates even a small amount. A little really does go along way! For those of you in the business world, remember to do a company match if you can!
