Peritoneal carcinomatosis can be caused by tumors of the appendix, colon, rectum, ovary, stomach and small bowel, and from primary peritoneal tumors and mesothelioma. Dr. Sardi is one of the earliest practitioners of heated intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC). This unusual procedure, which can take as long as 10 hours, kills microscopic cancer cells in the abdomen and can dramatically increase survival rates. Dr. Sardi and his colleagues have conducted groundbreaking research to provide scientifically proven treatment protocols for patients world-wide, deepen knowledge about the disease, and better understand the physiological genesis and development of peritoneal tumors.

We also want to spread the word about this disease, as it commonly goes undetected or is diagnosed incorrectly. My sister had no symptoms other than an expanding waistline - had she not found that to be unusual or counted it as part of the aging process, the disease may have gotten the best of her and taken her out of the game.
Dr. Sardi is, one of the finest surgeons in his field. If it were not for him, she would not still be here living, laughing and loving life. Not only is he skilled in the operating room, his bedside manner is beyond compare - and anyone who has had the pleasure to meet this great man will agree that he is truly amazing. Please help me help him so that he can in turn help all of whom are diagnosed with this horrible disease to stay alive.
