Baltimore County Inspiration Walk 2011
Many of you know that I have been involved with Special Olympics Baltimore County for almost 20 years. So many things have changed since I first began volunteering for this wonderful organization. I've seen athletes grow from young children into more independent adults; I've seen athletes get jobs, get married, and move away. I've helped welcome new young athletes into the SOBA family, and sadly, I've felt sadness as a few athletes have died. One thing that has remained constant is the look of pride and pure joy on the faces of each and every athlete when they successfully accomplish something for the first time! We often think of Special Olympics athletes as having "disabilities." I've come to realize that they have more abilities, in more areas, than many of us will ever have.
Special Olympics Baltimore County is a non-profit organization. We offer our sports training programs free of charge for all athletes. Please considering supporting our only major fundraiser....our Inspiration Walk. No donation is too small....all donations will be greatly appreciated and will be put to good use. I will be more than happy to offer any questions you might have about SOBA...don't hesitate to contact me directly, if needed.
Thank you so very much,
Joyce
