The UNC Dance Marathon is a yearlong student fundraising effort benefiting the patients and families of N.C. Children's Hospital. In its first eleven years, the marathon has raised more that $2 million and created lasting relationships between the families and patients of the hospital and the campus community.

Donations support grants and organizations within N.C. Children's Hospital such as the Center for Clinical Excellence, the hospital's Healthy Steps program and the For the Kids Fund, a unique fund set up to help families cover costs unassociated with insurance or Medicaid that they may or may not otherwise be able to afford.
