On March 31, I will be in Brooklyn, NY walking in ABWA's 3rd Annual Walk to Stop The Clot to benefit the National Blood Clot Alliance (NBCA).
Having worked at NBCA for the past few years I've been inspired by the courage and commiitment of so many of our volunteers whose lives have been impacted by blood clots or clotting disorders. People like Traci Wilkes Smith, whose life was seriously affected by her experience with a Pulmonary Embolism (PE) at the young age of 25.....or Anna Frutiger, whose life was cut short, when she succombed to a PE while finiishing her 1st year of dental school....or Kara King, a young mother of 3 children who spent days in the ICU following her PE, wondering if she would survive to see her children grow up. These, and countless other stories - some of survivors and some whose lives were tragically and suddenly lost - fill my days and make my job so meaningful. While I'm grateful that my family and close friends have escaped the impact of a blood clot, I am constantly reminded of how lucky we've been.
Please help me support this important cause - your tax deductible contribution will go a long way as NBCA continues to bring help and hope to individuals and families across the country whose lives have been affected.
My gratitude to you -
