Dear Friends and Family,

On Saturday, January 23rd, Laurie and I will be participating as a Mother/Daughter team in Raritan Valley Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build Work Day program. Along with other Habitat volunteers, we will be helping to build a modest home for a hard-working, low-income family in our region.

Decent, affordable housing is scarce in Somerset and Hunterdon counties, forcing many low-income families to live in overcrowded, unsafe conditions. The Women Build program challenges women to build a better future for the children of central New Jersey by addressing the problem of substandard housing. By participating in Women Build, we will be giving other women and their families a “hand up” by helping them to build a home of their own.

With your help, I hope to make a real difference in the lives of a local family. My personal goal is $500. The Women Build Team’s goal is $100,000. Any pledge amount you can offer will be greatly appreciated!
