So, times are tough and the economy stinks. But we are not going to let that stop us from having a good time and helping out! On Saturday December 5th, I will be joining many others to raise money to bring yoga into children's shelters across the nation.  It means even more to me now that I have become a registered yoga "sharer".  I completed my training on Oct 24 and am awestruck by this ancient practice that is at the core of humankind "ness"!  If I only had this knowledge when I was a kid!

In a nutshell, Karma Krew is a consciousness-raising and community mobilizing non-profit that infuses the world with more positive energy by promoting acts of kindness, service, and community outreach in its many forms. Their 30 volunteer chapters nationwide have been responsible for literally hundreds of hours of community service. They've planted tress; built houses; helped hurricane victims; soothed grieving families in the bereavement process; worked in soup kitchens; removed grafitti; painted schools; supported wounded soldiers; fed the homeless; and have created and implemented yoga-based empowerment programs for abused and neglected children living in shelters. This list goes on and on. Some time ago, this kind of charity work may have just been considered a nice gesture, but today, organizations like Karma Krew have become downright essential to the healthy functioning of our society and community.
