On July 28, 2012, the Alpha-1 Iowa Support Group Chapter is helping to raise money to find a cure for Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency. Alpha-1 is a genetic condition that is passed from parents to their children. This conditin may result in serious lung disease in adults and/or liver disease in infants, childern and adults.
Our 4th Annual Get the Scoop on Alpha-1 fundraiser will be held at the Johnston Lions Club, 6401 Merle Hay Road, Johnston, IA. We will be having an Ice Cream Social along with live music, silent auction, 50/50 raffle and kid's activities. I would like to enlist your support of the Alpha 1 Foundation in continuing its mission to provide leadership and resources that will result in increased research, improved health, worldwide detection, and a cure for Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency.
100% of all dollars raised will go directly to the Alpha-1 Foundation to fund research for a cure. Last year, we were able to raise over $8000 for research.
If you are un able to attend but would still like to donate, please do so here.
Many thanks for your support-- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
