I will be riding again in the 2nd annual Pearlstone Eco Ride on May 16, 2010. Last year, I road 8 hilly miles of the ride with my Mom (much to the chagrin of my Dad) through the freezing cold pounding rain and wind. While conditions were absolutely awful, we had a blast! After drying off, I helped with the plant sale where we purchased all our annuals to plant at home. The flowers were more spectacular than when we hired a gardener to plant. Plus Mom and I planted 100 plants together in our yard reminding us of the event all summer long.
With all your help I raised over $2,500 last year and was one of the top fundraising teams. Hopefully with your help I can beat that benchmark this year!
There are a number of ways you and your families can help me this year and participate:
1. Make a contribution on my Firstgiving page in honor of my ride;
2. Join my team Roses (with your family and friends) and ride (register on Firstgiving);
3. For non-riders, volunteer to help with the event:
4. Come to the celebration after the ride;
5. Order plants and flats for your home in advance of the ride; and/or
6. If you can, be a sponsor of the ride –sponsorships range from$1,000-5,000.
All the money raised at the ride supports the educators at Kayam farm who
teach Jewish and non-Jewish groups of all ages Jewish law and values as they relate to ecology, sustainability, health and agriculture.
This year following the ride at noon, we are planning a fantastic celebration with food, rides, music and vendors. With your help this will be a big community event – both a fundraiser and a fun-raiser..
So please join my family and I on May 16th. Thank you for all your help and support to make this a success.
With much gratitude and appreciation,
Julia Rose Lax Garber
Special thanks to Richard and Rosalie for their off line $2,500 Corporate Sponsorship and $500 to my ride!! e
