Update: A wonderful gift has been donated in the amount of $1,400! This means we have succeeded our goal of $3,500. This by no means means we don't need any more donations. We will need as much money as possible to give to this family in order to help with the extensive costs of having a new baby. Nate and Mary live in Iowa where Nate is a restaurant manager and Mary is a teacher. Unable to have biological children, Nate and Mary began their adoption journey last Christmas season. Now, a year later, they are nearing the end of the adoption process and will soon be the forever parents of a newborn baby boy.
After months of waiting and not hearing anything, Nate and Mary got a call on Labor Day. A baby was born, the birthmother was choosing to place him for adoption, and she had chosen them to be his parents. Jacob is a healthy, very happy baby boy.
Savings, family, friends, and a personal loan all helped provide the financing necessary for this adoption to take place. However, Nate and Mary still found themselves short of the amount needed to complete the adoption. As anyone on the road to adoption knows, children remain in a tenuous situation until the adoption is finalized. A grant from Gift of Adoption will provide the last funds necessary to finalize this adoption and give Jacob a permanent family.

I knew I wanted to donate money to a charity or do something for a family in need but couldnt find just the right thing that I felt good about. I am currently a 22 year old College student who is majoring in elementary education. I love children and think they are the most wonderful gift any family could ever recieve. The reason I have decided to pick this website is because I was adopted as an infant by my two wonderful and loving parents. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't want to thank my parents for just being my parents. I know I was a gift for them which made them very happy and now I want to give back in the same way. Adoption is a very special thing, but without the funds, can be almost impossible to achieve for want to be parents. I have set my fundraisng target at $3,500 because this is what the final costs are for an adoption for one family. With the help from you, hopefully we can help atleast one family achieve their dreams like my parents did with myself and my brother.
