This page is dedicated to raising money for a cause I feel passionate about; a cause close to my heart that I hope saves people’s lives in the future. That cause is Cancer Research and I hope you consider making a small donation in memory of my mom as I will be running the Marine Corps Marathon with the Cancer Research Institute’s DON’T STOP team this year. As most of you know my mom’s death was a shock for everyone. She was the healthiest women I knew; enjoyed life to its fullest and never missed an opportunity to travel the world. Unfortunately, cancer prevented my mom from continuing to live life to the fullest and I hope someday we will find a cure for the type of cancer that took my mom’s life, melanoma.

Running has always been part of my life beginning with year round soccer at the age of seven but recreational running has never been so important to me than in the years that followed my mom’s death. It is a refreshing and liberating experience that clears my head and gives me a renewed strength I rarely have with the daily struggle of living life without my mom. Running is a way I feel closer to my mom and it gives me a warm feeling of happiness. Although my mom was never a runner herself, she thrived in competitive situations and I hope her tenacity, fearlessness and ability to do anything she set her mind to, carries me to the finish line on October 30th.
