Friends & Family~
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
This year is the Police Unity Tour’s 15th anniversary!
I am riding in memory of Maryland State Trooper TFC Wesley Brown, Montgomery County Police Sergeant Hector Ayala and Baltimore Police Officers Jim Fowler and Tommy Portz.
TFC Brown was shot and killed on June 11, 2010. He was working part-time security at a local restaurant. TFC Brown had escorted the suspect out for refusing to pay a bill. The suspect returned 30 minutes later with an accomplice and waited for TFC Brown to exit the restaurant. When he did, TFC Brown was shot several times (near his marked MSP police vehicle.) Although wearing his protective vest, one bullet entered an unprotected area piercing his heart. TFC Brown was 24 and a 3 ½ year veteran of the Maryland State Police.
Sgt. Ayala was killed in a motor vehicle collision early Easter morning April 4, 2010. He was responding to assist an officer in need of back-up. Sgt. Ayala was married and had a 15 month old son. His wife Melissa was 7 months pregnant with "TRIPLETS." Sgt. Ayala was 31 and a veteran of MCPD for 7 years.
Officer Fowler was killed in an automobile accident on September 27, 2010, while traveling to an accident investigation training course at Penn State University. During the drive Officer Fowler encountered inclement weather, causing his vehicle to leave the roadway and strike the center divider. Officer Fowler was a U.S. Navy veteran and had served with the Baltimore Police Department for 34 years. He was 61 and is survived by his wife and two children.
Officer Portz was killed in an automobile accident on October 20, 2010 when his patrol car struck the back of a stopped firetruck on a highway. The firetruck had responded to reports of an injured person lying in the highway median strip and had stopped in the left lane to investigate. Officer Portz had served with the Baltimore Police Department for just under 10 years. He was 32 and is survived by his wife and three children.
Please take 5 minutes to view the attached video tribute I created which highlights TFC Brown and Sgt. Ayala. ( I am currently working on creating a video tribute to Officer Fowler and Officer Portz.)
Assist me in honoring all the fallen officers who gave their life to protect others, as "We Ride for Those Who Died". Please donate what you can. Every little bit counts. Let them know that we will Never Forget them and continue to support their memory and family.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts. If preferred, you may send a check to: Sgt. Pritchard- MSP Rockville Barrack, 7915 Montrose Road, Rockville MD 20854. (Made out to- Police Unity Tour Inc)
Many thanks for your support - and PLEASE forward this to anyone you think might want to donate too!
