Police Unity Tour Chapter IX
Family and Friends~
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
During National Law Enforcement Officers Week in May of each year, over 1,200 Law Enforcement Officers ride their bicycles over 250 miles in 4 days to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington DC. This bicycle ride, known as the Police Unity Tour, raises awareness of Officers who have been killed in the line of duty. The secondary purpose is to raise funds for the National Law Enforcement Officer's Memorial and Museum in Washington DC. Our Motto: "We Ride For Those Who Died."
2012 marks the "Inaugural Ride" for our new chapter; "Chapter IX." We will leave Valley Forge, PA on May 9, 2012 and arrive at the NLEOM in Washington, DC on May 12, 2012.
I will be riding in memory of Maryland State Trooper, Trooper First Class Shaft Hunter. TFC Hunter was killed in a motor vehicle collision on May 21, 2011. It is believed TFC Hunter had initiated the pursuit of a speeding motorcycle when his vehicle collided with the rear of a parked tractor trailer on I-95. TFC Hunter was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and had served with the Maryland State Police for 11 years. He is survived by his six children, his parents, siblings and an extended loving family.
Please take 5 minutes to view the attached video tribute I created which highlights TFC Shaft Hunter and the Police Unity Tour. Assist me in honoring ALL the fallen officers who gave their life to protect others, as "We Ride for Those Who Died". Please donate what you can. Every little bit counts. Let them know that we will Never Forget.
I need to raise a minimum of $1,750.00 to ride. Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts. If preferred, you may send a check to: Sgt. Pritchard- MSP Rockville Barrack, 7915 Montrose Road, Rockville MD 20854 (Made out to- Police Unity Tour Inc).
Many thanks for your support - and PLEASE forward this to anyone you think might want to donate too!
