This is Sonny's story.   He was about 9 years old when the only family he ever knew, brought him to my house.  They found out he was diabetic and decided they no longer wanted the responsibility.  Sonny was originally adopted to this family from RESCUE so many years earlier and that is why they returned him to us.  Sonny came to me because I was in the foster parent program with AZ RESCUE and he needed to be in a home because of his medical condition.  I was a bit scared to take on a diabetic cat who needed to loose weight, start a strict special diet and receive insulin injections twice a day but one look at his scared little face and I was hooked!  I ended up adopting Sonny about a year later and now at 15 years old, he is defying all odds.  The main reason that Sonny was given up by his family was because of the ongoing cost of his medical treatment.  Before being adopted, RESCUE took on all costs of caring for Sonny.  I supplied him with love, care and a place to live but RESCUE supplied him with with everything else.  He is on a special prescription food diet along with the cost of his insulin, syringes and nearly monthly vet visits. 

This is just one example of what your donation will go toward.  You make it possible for every animal we save from the euthanasia list to live a comfortable, healthy, happy life until they find their forever home. 

Sonny would almost certainly have been considered for euthanasia at many shelters because of his medical condition but RESCUE was able to care for him because of your help.  Any small donation is huge for us and I appreciate your taking time to view the RESCUE website to learn more about our organization.
