For many years my husband's step-father, Mo Mantus,  walked in the Music City 1/2 Marathon.  In 2008 Mo was diagnosed with stage 4 oral cancer.  The cancer surgery and subsequent chemotherapy and radiation have left him unable to walk across the room unaided, much less walk the 1/2 marathon.  This year, several family members and friends of Mo have teamed up to form "Team Mo" and we will walking the 1/2 Marathon and pushing Mo in a wheelchair along the 13.5 mile route. We are raising funds for Gilda's Club, a cancer support center which has been invaluable to my mother and Mo since his diagnosis.  I personally am walking in honor of Mo's loving spirit and courageous fight against this deadly disease.
