Julie Lewis Dossey's Fundraising Page
Thank you for making it to my fundraising page!
If you've made it this far...you might as well read on & consider donating a little (or a lot!) to the Caring for Carcinoid Foundation.
Here's the story...
My friend, Payton Graeber, died two years ago at the age of 29 from carcinoid cancer. One of those rare, crazy, fluke, how did this happen to my young, beautiful, smart, talented friend??!!
Now...2 years later - the helpless feeling has subsided some , but still lingers some days. In an effort to help others with carcinoid cancer enjoy life and also to help fund research for a cure - our "Little Team That Could" is participating in the Country Music Marathon & 1/2 Marathon and raising money that goes 100% to the Caring for Carcinoid Foundation.
Yeah...for my second year I am going to walk (& maybe hop, skip, jump and run some) in the 1/2 Marathon. That's 13.1 miles! Last year I crawled over the finish line just over 4 hours from beginning to end.
This year I'll be happy to cross the finish line again - and hoping it will be under 4 hours this time! And....if you are so kind to contribute to our cause - I'll have no choice but the get my butt moving! I know you'll come looking for me if I don't make the finish!!
Thank you for reading this far and considering sponsoring me and my team on our journey. We can't bring Payton back - but we can still love her and try to help others who are going through what Payton went through - what we ALL went through with her.
This life is a beautiful thing...even if others paths are shorter than we thought they'd be. Let's love all we can today - you never know what tomorrow will bring.
xoxo - julie
