Hi! I know it's hard to believe...I can't believe it myself...but, I'm walking (and maybe even running some) in a marathon on April 26, 2008. Ok, it's a half marathon...14 miles! It's called the Country Music Marathon and will be in Nashville, Tenn. Why am I doing this and telling you about it?? In honor of my friend Payton, her sister Sarah, has put together The Little Team that Could! We are walking in memory of Payton and also to raise money for research for the Caring for Carcinoid Foundation. This is the rare and deadly type of cancer Payton had. Payton was 29 when she died. She had been battling carcinoid cancer for three years. Payton was a wonderful friend. She loved to spend time with her husband, Brent, and her cat, Lily. She loved food, and was always up for going out to eat. Payton was an entrepreneur with her own marketing business, Vivid Marketing and Design. More than anything, Payton valued her friends and family. She always sent birthday and holiday cards on time, her way of showing people how much she cared for them. Payton was someone I shared most everything with. The kind of friend you knew wouldn't judge you, but supported you no matter what. And to my kids, especially Marley, she was a good friend - someone my children could laugh with and trust, be silly with and felt safe with. She taught me so much - in my professional life and personal life. We all miss her every day. Thank you for reading this and for supporting our cause! Julie Dossey
