West Suburban Humane Society is a no-kill shelter.  This means we spend a lot of our funds on caring for sick animals rather than euthanizing as many other shelters might.  I am proud to be a part of such a wonderful organization. 

With the changes in the economy we have had many animals dumped on our porch, some with notes saying things like "sorry, lost my home."  We always take our animals back and many have been brought back due to financial hardship.  Many of these people are devistated to have to leave their beloved family member behind.  We are glad we can do this for our animals, but it is taking a toll on our capabilities to provide shelter for other animals.  Financially, donations are down as you would expect so every little penny counts. Even if you can spare a few dollars the animals would appreciate it.
