It's that time of year again to slap on some sunscreen and take a walk through the beautiful UC Irvine campus in support of Huntington's disease. This is the 10th annual event, and this year will be held at UC Irvine (corner of Bison and Peltason). It will be held on Saturday, May 19th from 8 am - 12 pm. Special events will include a 5K walk, the first ever Dog walk, 5K race, and a 10K race. Lunch is included, and a "Hooters Wing Eating Contest" will be held, along with music, comedians, and prizes.
If it seems like it was only a few months ago that we had the 9th Annual Walk for the Cure, you are correct. The Orange County Chapter of HDSA made a decision to move all future walks from September to the month of May each year, which is HD Awareness month. Awareness brings support, both in terms of money and politically.
Since this is our 10th anniversary, the registration fee has been waived (that's FREE for everything from breakfast to Hooters wings), and you just need to show up for the walk, and sign in to my team roster. We are trying to get 1,000 people on the UCI campus in support of HD, and we need you there as part of our total count.
As ever, thanks so much for your help and support!
