Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! This year will be my 1st year with Team Eligh! I am very excited and hope that you will join not only our fundraising efforts but also our team! There is something for everyone, from running or walking, to helping set up and run our tent.
Eligh is my Great nephew and last June after being sick for a little while, a brain tumor was discovered. It was located near the cerebellum (infratentorial, or back of brain - its function is to coordinate voluntary muscle movements and to maintain posture, balance, and equilibrium). Eligh underwent brain surgery and we were blessed to find out his tumor was benign! However he did come out of surgery with a side effect-Posterior Fossa syndrome which occurs in a smaller percentage of patients that have had surgery for brain tumors. In the beginning he could not walk, talk or eat.
Eligh has come a long way and is doing well, he is now back at school almost full time and will be entering 1st grade this year
