Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!  This is my first Diabetes Awareness Walk away from my home in Maryland.  I was diagnosed with diabetes when I was 21 years old.  I am a member of Diabetes Sisters which is an organization that supports women with diabetes and the unique challenges they face as a diabetic.  Diabetes is a chronic disease and requires daily attention and management.  It requires a personal committment to being healthy as it is largely a self-managed disease.   I hope a cure is found during my lifetime.  I want to live to hold my grandbabies!!
