Yes, I'm doing it again!!! Another 26.2 miles for a great cause..........
This will be my 3rd time running the P.F. Chang's Rock n Roll Arizona Marathon and my 2nd time training and raising money with "Miracles in Motion". “Miracles in Motion” raises vital funds for The Phoenix Children’s Hospital (PCH).
For the Jan 2009 Marathon I am training, racing and raising funds in honor of a little girl named Alise.
Alise's story- Alise was diagnosed before birth with a serious heart defect- the right side of her heart did not develop. She was born prematurely and immediately transferred to PCH, where they took excellent care of her. She was in the neonatal ICU for several months, then to pediatric ICU, as she underwent several surgeries including one to help her heart keep functioning, two to help her airway open and two to help her eat and swallow food. She began working with Physical, Occupational, and Speech therapists at PCH, and has been treated by GI doctors, pulmonologists, cardiologists, infectious disease specialists, feeding specialists and a host of other professionals there. Alise has now had three open heart surgeries there, and continues to see doctors as an outpatient. Alise still has a long way to go, and many obstacles ahead of her, but with the support and dedication of the staff at PCH, Alise's parents are confident that she has a bright future.
All of the money raised by “Miracles in Motion” will go directly towards patient care. Your tax deductible donation allows PCH to provide specialized care to Arizona’s most ill and injured children.
