This will be my 4th time running the P.F. Chang's Rock n Roll Arizona Marathon and my 3nd time training and raising money with "Miracles in Motion". “Miracles in Motion” is a program that raises vital funds for patient care at The Phoenix Children’s Hospital (PCH).
For the Jan 2010 event I am training, racing and raising funds in honor of a little girl named Heaven.
Heaven's story- Heaven was diagnosed with Burkitt’s Leukemia in 2006 when she was only 2 years old. Her mother rushed her to the Phoenix Children’s Hospital after a trip to the dentist found that the lymph nodes under her jaw were abnormally inflamed. From that point on Heaven stayed at the Phoenix Children's Hospital for 6 months straight while undergoing intense chemotherapy treatments. Heaven was also in ICCU for 1 month due to her treatment port getting infected. After an intense year of fighting for her life Heaven was released from PCH in March of 2007 and she was cancer free! Her family praises PCH, Dr. Henry, and all the staff at PCH for giving Heaven hope, love, and prayers. That is what PCH means to Heaven’s family. Heaven has now been cancer free for 2 years.
All of the money raised by “Miracles in Motion” will go directly toward the care of children like Heaven. Your tax deductible donation allows PCH to provide specialized care to Arizona’s most ill and injured children. Every dollar counts, so please give as little or as much as you can.
