<b>Description:</b> The Boston Area Rape Crisis Center (BARCC) is the second oldest rape crisis center in the United States and the largest in Massachusetts. We provide free, confidential services to survivors of rape and sexual assault, their family and friends, regardless of sex, race, physical/developmental disabilities, income, ethnicity, class, age religion, or sexual orientation. <br><br><b>Mission:</b> Founded in 1973, BARCC is a community-based, grassroots organization with a mission to provide free crisis counseling and advocacy services designed to empower, support, and educate survivors of rape and sexual assault, their families and friends, and the professionals who work with them. We are deelply committed to provide community education that strives to reduce the tolerance of sexual violence in our community, and to increase understanding of the issues facing survivors.
