Karen Cherrone's Fundraising Page
Dear Friends and Family,
On November 2, 2008, I will be running my first Marathon in New York City on behalf of Team Central Park. I chose to run for this charity for many reasons. The park is vital to those of us who live in the city. It is one of the few places to "escape". Where else can you go where there is hiking, biking, running, tennis, basketball, volleyball, swimming, gardens, restaurants, concerts, the theater, the zoo, dog runs and most of all, a place to relax and enjoy the views of the surrounding city. For those of you who like to visit, it is a major landmark that must be enjoyed. The park is one of my favorite places, (Winston loves it too!!).
The park is also an important part of the community. It offers several recreational and educational programs for all ages.
I have begun my training in order to complete the 26.2 mile trek, but I need your help to complete my goal of raising $3000 for the Central Park Conservancy. I am proud to run the marathon on behalf of this amazing organization that makes a difference in so many people's lives each and every day.
Please give as generously as you can. Your tax-deductible donation can be made online at www.firstgiving.com/kcherrone. You can also send a check made payable to the Cental Park Conservancy. Please include my name and the 2008 NYC Marathon on the check. Checks should be mailed to: Cental Park Conservancy, Attn: Alan Karpman, 14 East 60th Street, New York, NY, 10022. A third option is to call the Conservancy directly at 212-310-6643 and ask for Alan Karpman to provide credit card information, the amount of the contribution, my name and the name of the event, (2008 NYC Marathon). The deadline is October 15, 2008.
I greatly appreciate your generosity and support!!! Wish me luck!
Thank you.
Karen
