I have been a CASA volunteer and child advocate for the past year, and have seen how much help is needed for children when they go into foster care.  I have also experienced how tremendously rewarding it is to help these children.  The young girl I was appointed to in June 2008 was successfully reunited with her mother in May of this year, and no longer needs the Court's assistance - however we both desire to be 'lifelong' friends!   Unfortunately, only about half of the kids who need a CASA get to have one due to financial restraints.
