THE BATTLE CONTINUES and the PADDLERS ARE BACK!
The battle against Neuroblastoma continues - and until there is a cure, it's literally up to parents, family members, friends and our supporters to help fund the research and development of new treatment options.
Paddling for a Cure 2 will begin on July 19th, 2010 and this year there are four ladies taking on the world class rapids of the Grand Canyon. Two will paddle the whole canyon (over 200 miles) and the other two will paddle half way and then hike over eight miles UP and out of the canyon on what promises to be a very hot day in late July!
Paddling for a Cure began last year with two paddlers - and raised $14k. This year our paddlers and goal have doubled in an effort to raise money for the development of a promising new treatment for Neuroblastoma.
All donations are tax deductable and go to the Band of Parents - a group of families who are working together to bring new, promising treatments to clinical trial. Make no mistake - we do this with immense passion - as these treatments may be used to help OUR kids and the kids of so many people we know by virtue of living in the world of pediatric cancer.
We are blessed to have Maryellen, Jan, Melissa and Karen on the river this year.
Please help us!!!
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. You may also drop off a check made out to "Band of Parents" to any of the paddlers...we'll keep our total raised updated so you can track our progress.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too! We also appreciate tweets, facebook postings, emails to your networks...
