Hello friends,

I am writing out of desperation and disgust, but with true hope and dedication to finding a cure for this disease.  

In explanation, I received a call today to let me know that one of our dear friends had lost his battle with Alpha-1.  He had been given the incredible gift of transplant, and spent his days and nights as an advocate for alpha patients everywhere and a true soldier in the drive for awareness, detection and a cure for Alpha-1. Regardless of his will and dedication, he was unable to win the fight against a recent infection and was taken from us far too early.

Unfortunately, those calls come too often.

We have incredible people fighting for a cure and a world class team directing funds towards research.  The progress is amazing, but we cannot let up.

I am writing to all of you to ask for any support you can provide.  I promise that there will be fun fundraising events in the future - wine-tasting, rides, etc., but I just felt I could not wait to put this request out there.
