Who would have thought just about six years ago when I was diagnosed with Lupus that I would be where I am now! When I was first diagnosed with Lupus in December of 2004 I would have never thought I could live a life without going to the hospital for tests every week, or for chemotherapy and other treatments. I never thought  I would be so strong and get through some of those harder times. Here I am now a college graduate!! I can remember days that I thought I would never be able to get out of bed and walk downstairs let alone finish a degree and walk across a stage to receive it!! I have learned so much through these years and really found my place in this world! I have learned that you just have to play the hand that you were dealt and God (along with great family and friends) will help pull you through.

Sometimes our plans in life change and I'm lucky I got to learn that at such a young age! It has been a long bumpy road to get where I am now but time and time again I was shown what amazing people have my back! :o) I know I would never be where I am now without all of you. I just want to thank you all for the endless love and support!!!

Through my battle with Lupus another huge influence and motivation I had was the family I found in the Lupus Alliance! I'm thrilled that this will be my 6th year apart of such a wonderful organization. That's why it is so important to me to give back this organization and would love for your help!! 

I understand that times are tough and would appreciate any donation at all! I will be walking again this year with my family and friends and would love to have as many of you come out as possible! 

It is truly the greatest and most rewarding feeling in the world to be able to say that I'M IN REMISSION!!!!!

Lupus is a very complex disease with no known cure that can come back at anytime. There is also very little known about the cause and effects of lupus as well as very little treatment options. Please help to keep me in remission as well as help others that are in similar situations as I by donating to help with lupus research!
