On March 17, 2012, I will be participating in Beech Grove High School's Riley Dance Marathon. The Dance Marathon benefits Riley Children's Hospital and works to spread awareness of all the terrific kids in Riley's care. My school will be raising funds specifically for the CANCER unit/department at Riley.
My school is partnering with Ball State University to help fund the event and to give us guidance on how to help out with all the activities that will in full swing. I will be on my feet doing a lot of those activities and interacting with the kids from Riley who come as guests. This gives me the oppertunity to meet with families of Riley to get to know them more and have a deeper relationship with them.
I have been fortunate enough to have been born healthy and free from any life threatening diseases. When I was fourteen, I caught the chicken pox, and seeing as I had never had them before, they were really really bad! I eventually had to go to Riley to be treated. Now, I know that I wasn't going to die, but the people at Riley really made me feel safe and welcome! I feel like I should give back to those who have helped me along the way and that is why I'm dancing for Riley. To feel like I'm helping someone that can't fend for themselves is life changing!
I know that Riley helps children in need and I love to help children. I want them to know that I love them as much as everyone else! By your donating, you are supporting me and all of the children at Riley who I am dancing with and for.
Any money you donate will go straight to Riley Children's Hospital to improve care and save lives. Just click on the "give now" button to make a donation. Every little bit helps! Then, please pass this on to anyone else who you believe may want to help this cause.
Thank you for your help and support!
