Bark for BARCC!

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page! Parker (my beloved pup) and I will be barking for BARCC at the 5th Annual Walk for Change.  Please join us in this powerful public speak-out against sexual assault.

Why we walk

Sexual assault is an awful crime, with 1 in 6 women and 1 in 33 men reported experiencing an attempted or completed rape at some time in their lives in the United States alone.*

It’s also a crime of silence.  75% of survivors know their attackers* and experience significant barriers to reporting their assaults.  Walking is one way in which we can speak for survivors and show our support for them while respecting their confidentiality and safety.

Walking’s not just for women!

While sexual assault happens primarily to women, men are affected too. And although most rapists are male, MOST MALES ARE NOT RAPISTS! *  Which is why it’s so impactful when the good men in our lives stand up and speak out against sexual assault.  You are our allies in the fight against sexual assault, and your voices are powerful and meaningful.

Please walk with us and show your support.  Make a donation in lieu of flowers for Valentine’s Day.  The message this will send is far sweeter than any chocolate could ever be.

Join Us

Plase walk with us--support survivors of sexual assault--show that these crimes won’t be tolerated--all while raising money to help survivors get the FREE resources they need through BARCC services when these crimes do occur.  Please invite your family, friends, coworkers etc... to walk with us too.  And don’t forget your dogs!

If you can’t walk, you can still help! Make a donation; any amount will help survivors.  Here’s an idea of how much of an impact your donations can make:

$25 helps BARCC answer two hotline calls.
$75 pays for medical accompaniment to a hospital emergency room by a trained volunteer.
$200 supports the first three sessions of free counseling for survivors and their families.
$1,000 allows a new volunteer or intern to attend BARCC’s comprehensive training program.

Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.

Thank you so very much for your support-- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to get involved!
