RBARI is such a unique and special place. I have worked here for 7yrs, and it is truly one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Working to save the lives of "unwanted" dogs can have its ups and downs. There are the triumphant times when you get the best possible outcome for the individual dog. Then, there are the times that you just don't, despite all of the love and effort that everyone at RBARI gives. Brianna (pictured here) came to us from a NJ kill shelter. Her owner surrendered her at 8months old to that shelter emaciated, terrified, and with no prior vaccinations. This brought Brianna to her downfall. The day I saw her at that shelter, I knew she was special and that RBARI needed to take her. So, we did. Brianna was so undersocialized, but so gentle, sweet and eager to love. RBARI was prepared to give her full medical treatment and rehabilitate her broken spirit, as it has done for countless other animals.  A few hours after she entered the shelter, Brianna was diagnosed and rushed to the animal hospital with Parvo, a deadly virus. Brianna passed away 3 days later. Brianna never had a chance without any vaccinations. By looking into Brianna's eyes when she came to RBARI, I know in my heart that she knew she was finally loved.  I am walking in Brianna's memory and for all of the dogs like her that didn't receive the life that God intended. I know financial times are tough for everyone, but please consider donating even just $5 to help RBARI continue its important mission to help dogs like Brianna.
