I will be running a leg of the Vermont City Marathon this year to support  the Penelope & Sam Fund. This is a very competitive race, and the relay is just as competitive. Relay teams have to first “win the lottery” just to be able to participate!!

The Penelope & Sam Fund is for Neuroblastoma Research at the Vermont Cancer Center that offers hope to children, and families around the world who are coping with a particularly deadly form of children's cancer. Neuroblastoma is a form of cancer that has only a 30% 5-year survival rate. Each year, approximately 650 children in the United States are diagnosed with Neuroblastoma, and each year, a relapse occurs in 70% of high-risk patients who have been treated for the disease. These relapses have proven fatal almost all the time, and this research is working to improve the rate of relapse.
