As most of you know, Autism holds a very signifcant place in my life. My twin sister, Julie, lives with Autism and I truly believe due to watching her live her life and the accomplishments that she has made, it is also my career.
If you've met Julie, I am sure you have a story about her. She is an amazing woman. She taught herself to play piano by ear, or any instrument for that matter. She is an excellent artist and loves to draw and paint. She taught herself to knit and can always be spotted with her knitting bag and gigantic ball of yarn.
Community Autism Resources is a non-profit organization that provides support to people with Autism, their families and the professionals in the field. The grand majority of our services are free of charge and we service a large a regional area in Southeatern MA. Funding has become increasingly thin and so fundraisers like the Hearts and Hands Walk for Autism not only help us...they sustain us and allow us to continue to provide services.
