Welcome!  Last year Ben and I ran in the 10K as an opportunity to get in shape, test our athletic abilities, and raise money for the VCU Cancer Center.  It was a rainy day, and many folks backed out of the race, but our motivation for the day was "there are cancer patients that would give anything to run in the ran...we're running!"   What we didn't realize was our great friend Stephen Satterly's sister, Mary Claire, was fighting for her life that very day.  She was diagnoised with an agressive type of leukemia and lost her courageous battle only 4 days later, 2 days after our race.  Mary Claire was 27 years old.

This year I would like to ask for your sponsorship and support for the wonderful foundation her family & friends have created, Mary Claire Satterly Foundation (MCSF).   100% of the funds raised will be used to build a children's playroom at the new University of Chapel Hill Cancer Hospital. This will be the first of many projects sponsored by MCSF.  Please inquire with your employer about company match opportunities as this is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization.
