Kate Smith's Fundraising Page

Hi Folks!

Thanks for stopping by.  My name is Kate and I'm participating for the first time in the CASA Kid Walk.  I work for Umpqua Bank in Arcata and we've got a great team from all of our local stores working hard to support local kids.

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) recruits, trains, and supports community volunteers who are advocating for abused and neglected children.  Lawyers, social workers, and foster parents have serveral cases and kids competing for their time and attention.  A CASA gets to focus on just one child.

Sadly, only 2 out of every 4 children who deserves and needs a CASA is able to be placed with one.  My life doesn't allow me the time needed to actually be a trained CASA, so I'm grateful to be able to support this great cause with my time and donations.  Every dollar donated goes to help provide an abused child with the CASA they deserve.

I have a personal goal of raising at least $200 in donations.  I have such supportive family and friends that I know I can do it.  Each Umpqua Team Member has a similar goal and we hope to be able to raise over $2000 as a team.

If you don't feel comfortable donating online, you can send a check with "Kate Smith" in the memo to:
CASA of Humboldt
2356 Myrtle Ave.
Eureka, CA 95501

Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
