Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
As you all know, I love biking and this ride from Boston to New York is just the kind of challenge for me! Any help is much appreciated and will motivate me all the more to a easy, fast and amazing ride. I have a feeling this is just the beginning.
I am riding because AIDS is still a present threat to our world. I am riding because the underprivileged can't get the help they need. Most importantly, I am riding because I believe that being HIV+ doesn't mean you can't live a happy and fulfilling life. I know this because I've seen my best friend do it.
I've know my best friend for 17 years and he's been positive for about 10 years. It goes without saying that I love him with all my heart. I knew the moment that we met that we were kindred spirits. We walked home from school together, came out together and almost ran away to LA together! To make a long story short, we've been through some damn good times and some very tough times.
Since being diagnosed with HIV, it hasn't gotten easier for my friend. He's battled economic hardship, a car accident, heart ache and of course, AIDS. But, he doesn't throw in the towel and give up. He keeps at it. He's a smart funny guy who happens to be a great co-worker, brother, son, AIDS awareness speaker and friend.
If my best friend can push every day, then what's three days?
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
