Dear friends and family,
Almost two years ago, one of my best friends lost her mom to anal cancer. Paulette Crowther was a beautiful, strong, and wonderful mother who produced one of the most amazing women I know, Justine Almada. Since Paulette's death on April 5th, 2010, Justine and her two siblings, Tristan and Camille, have worked tirelessly to create the HPV and Anal Cancer Foundation, an organization that raises awareness about HPV-associated cancers, strives to dismantle the stigma around anal cancer, provides support and resources to people living with cancer and their families, and funds research that aids in the understanding, prevention, and cure of anal cancer and other HPV-related cancers.
I am running the MORE Magazine half marathon on April 15th to raise money for this incredible foundation. I am running because HPV affects everyone. Think about how many women you know who have HPV, and how many men who may be affected by HPV-related cancers later in their lives. HPV affects all of us.
Please support me in this half-marathon by giving whatever you can to the HPV and Anal Cancer Foundation.
Thank you for your support,
Katherine
