The National Breast Cancer Foundation is a non-profit fighting to end breast cancer, a deadly disease that affects every 1 in 8 females (CDC).

My grandmother, Jan Macioce, passed away four years ago to breast cancer. She was an incredible woman who taught me about bravery and courage through her own fight with cancer. For 35 years, my grandmother battled the deadly disease; even during the last few days of her life, she continued to fight the cancer, regardless of the fatigue and despair she felt. I want to dedicate my second half marathon to her and honor the rare courage she possessed.
