The ING New York City Marathon
Dear Family and Friends,
Thank you for visiting my personal fundraising page!
Most of you know that my family and I have been heavily involved with Huntington's Disease Society of America (HDSA) since my grandfather was diagnosed with Huntington's Disease 20 years ago. HD is a genetic neurodegenerative disease, affecting mental and physical capabilities, for which there is currently no cure. I am raising money for HDSA by running the ING New York City Marathon and I am very honored to be one of seven individuals running this race for this amazing organization. Funding helps provide family services, education, advocacy and research for the more than 30,000 people diagnosed with HD, and the 250,000 at-risk in the US, myself included.
Last year I ran the Team Hope 5k in Philadelphia to fundraise; this year I decided to up the ante by running 42.2k in my first marathon run. I have previously worked with HDSA in Columbus and now I am on the board of the Greater New York Chapter; however, the marathon run is my personal effort in raising funds and awareness for this organization. I am running for my family, for myself, and for the thousands of people affected by this terrible disease.
Help me provide help for today, hope for tomorrow. Please consider making a donation to this amazing cause; any amount is greatly appreciated. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to our fundraising efforts. Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
Thank you for all of your love and support through this effort!
