Yes, it is true...this self-proclaimed 'non-runner' is going to once again train to run the Seacoast Half marathon in November! Last year, my passion for SASS and our mission to keep kids SAFE motivated me to get off my couch and join the SASS 'Running for You(th)!' training team as a way to both get in better shape and help a REALLY important cause! Although it was challenging, I did manage to complete the half marathon and succeeded in raising over $1500 for the 'Safe Kids. Strong Teens.' prevention programs!!
This year, I have again joined SASS' Running for You(th)! program because I truly believe in the importance of keeping children in our community SAFE from sexual violence! SASS has also
This past year marked a very significant time in my involvement in the fight against sexual violence.
It was 25 years ago that I experienced a sexual assault by an acquaintance at age 17 and while a Senior in high school. At the time, although SASS existed, I was not aware of the support that was available and it wasn't until a few years later that I was able to get some help.
This past year also marked my 20th year of involvement with SASS and working towards our important mission of prevention sexual violence and supporting those affected by sexual assault, sexual abuse and stalking.
Finally, and most importantly, last year brought the birth of my daughter Brenna! This work has always been personal to me and I have always been very passionate about it. But now, as a Mom, I am even more determined to do whatever it takes to ensure that children are protected from sexual violence.
SASS has made great strides toward our mission, but there is still a lot of work to be done. If we are truly going to end sexual violence we need everyone to get involved and help. I hope you will consider making a donation and helping SASS to keep our children safe! No donation is too small and all money raised with go to the Safe Kids. Strong Teens prevention education programs provided by SASS and A Safe Place for kids in grades K-12.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. But, if you would prefer to write a check, please make it out to SASS and put my name in the memo line and mail to SASS, 7 Junkins Avenue, Portsmouth, NH 03801.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
Sincerely,
Kathy Beebe

PS: I hope to see you cheering me on at the Seacoast Half Marathon on November 13th! I think the visual of me attempting to run is worthy of your donation! :)
