IT IS NOT TOO LATE TO DONATE!! Please help the Super Plungers reach our goal of $100,000. Thank you for visiting my "Super Plunge" fundraising page. I just spent 24 hours with Some Unbelievable Plungers who Entered Repeatedly once an hour, every hour, for 24 hours straight into Lake Michigan on Feb. 26 & 27, 2010. Yes, I plunged 24 times in 24 hours during the 5th Annual SUPER PLUNGE to benefit Special Olympics Illinois dodging huge ice blocks. I am still collecting pledges from family, friends, co-workers and anyone else who wants to support Special Olympics Illinois athletes. Your donations will help provide athletes with intellectual disabilities the chance to participate in sports training and competition. I have been a Special Olympics Illinois Volunteer for 30 years and want to continue to help support Special Olympics athletes. I plunged this year in memory of Eunice Kennedy Shriver the Co-Founder of Special Olympics,my cousin Darlene Stevens who was a Special Education teacher who died of cancer in her 40's and my cousin Mary Ellen Schniedwind who was an angel and who left this earth way too early.
I have already completed the Special Olympics Maryland Super Plunge which was January 29-30, 2010 as a warmup to the Super Plunge in Illinois. So.....you know I am serious about trying to raise money for Special Olympics if I am crazy enough to do have done this in two different states!
I just returned from watching the competition in the Special Olympics Illinois Winter Games in Galena, IL and seeing the athletes compete made me realize even more why I am doing the Super Plunge. IT IS ALL ABOUT GIVING INDIVIDUALS WITH INTELLECTUAL AND PHYSICAL DISABILITIES A CHANCE TO SHOW WHAT THEY CAN DO!!!! So please help me help them.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to the Law Enforcement Torch Run Super Polar Plunge for Special Olympics Illinois.
If you would prefer to write a check, make it payable to Special Olympics Illinois and send to:
