"A year & a 1/2 ago, B.C. (before cancer), I had just completed (in my amateur runner's eyes) my first big run, a 10K.  2 Weeks later I was a stage 3 cancer patient.  I can clearly recall laying in bed shortly after two back-to-back surgeries, fixated on my drainage tubes & traumatized leg, thinking to myself I may never run again.

Dispite the swelling, nerve damage and numbness, here I am today, A.C (after cancer!!!) asking you all to support my biggest run yet, The Black Ribbon 1/2 Marathon Run for the War on Melanoma.  My goal is to PROVE my gimp leg and this devasting cancer WRONG, while raising much needed funding for melanoma research."    ~Katie
