WE DID IT!!!! WE MET THE CHALLENGE!!
Wow! I don't know how to thank everyone for your generosity, but ¡MUCHAS GRACIAS! We will start building the rest of the latrines this week, and I will send out pictures of more proud families as soon as I can. Please know that I could not have finished this project without all of you, and I am so pleased to have been able to make all of you part of this project, part of my Peace Corps experience, and part of the my family - Chuisac. The people of Chuisac really do want a better life for themselves, and these latrines will certainly help. They are hardworkers and very grateful as well. I wish you all could be here with me to see them finish these latrines and see their smiles in person. Thank you again for helping me finish my Peace Corps service with a bang! I have never seen a group of people so eager to throw money right down the toilet!

Thanks to everyone for the fast and generous responses! I am overwhelmed by the strong support from family and friends. Just to make it clear- to win the challenge I need to raise $3,075 in total by March 17th, and I will get the additional $2,000. We are almost there!! Thanks SO much. Katie
Dear all,
Thank you to all who responded to my last email about my final project: Latrines. I have a promised $1,075 on its way to Water Charity. However, I just received an excellent challenge from a friend, Bruce Bain, to raise $2,000 more by Midnight March 17th, and he will match it dollar for dollar to give me at least $4,000 for the project. I am extremely excited by this opportunity and impressed by Bruce's generosity. I strongly believe I can get to that mark with the support of all my friends and family. I also want to thank everyone who has already donated.
