As the snow melts and we recognize the color green again, we stumble upon another April-- which also happens to be Sexual Assault Awareness Month.  Kellen has finally agreed to walk a mile in those beautiful red pumps to benefit Monadnock Center for Violence Prevention.  Most of you know this is my former employer who does phenominal work to aid survivors of domestic and sexual violence and stalking (what a mouthful!).  I wish I could convey into words the look on a person's face when I was able to tell her that she was eligible for our free and confidential shelter, or that we could pay the filing fee for desperately needed court order (over $200!), or that s/he could call at any time-- day or night, all year round-- to talk to a confidential advocate.

However, I watched as our amazing board of directors pinched every penny and made some very difficult decisions to keep our agency running due to tremendous budget cuts. I left the non-profit world at a very scary time but I am committed to continue helping this amazing center serve the Monadnock area!  Every dollar makes a difference!
