Hi everyone!

I'm participating in a 5K Run, Walk and Roll to benefit persons with disabilities who are served by Exceptional Persons, Inc. (EPI) here in Iowa's Cedar Valley. I invite you to consider sponsoring me in my walk or in teaming up with me to raise more money for this cause.

I have been blessed with healthy children, family members and good health myself, but I also know how in a heartbeat that story can change. I'm glad to know there is a local organization out there working so hard to help people succeed by giving individuals and families choices and options. The great part is EPI understands the value of life experiences - I'm talking about bus trips, bowling, dancing, BBQ, karaoke, hockey games, football games......... 

I give because I can think of so many great people who will benefit if I do and the joy and happiness they have brought me. Here's a couple that just jump to my mind.

• I met a gentleman who was working at the Exceptional Bargains retail store. He was so happy and proud to tell me (smile from ear to ear) of an achievement he had assembling a tall bookshelf. And he did it without the instructions even! I smiled nonstop for hours reliving the joy with him - brightened my whole day.
   
• I heard a parent say they didn't think a peer friendship would be an option for their child. They were hesitant to join EPI's Children's Respite program. Now after joining not only are they getting a much needed break, but now their child has found a true friend. As a mother, that really hit home.
