Hi Everyone!
First of all, even if you don't have the means to donate, thanks so much for taking the time to look at my page and read about this great organization! As many of you know, for the past year and a half I have worked at Children's Hospital Boston on their hematology/oncology floor, and I LOVE it! The patients that I am priveleged enough to work with are some of the most determined, strong, and free spirited children I know. As if the diagnosis of "cancer" isn't daunting enough, many of our families spend months at a time living in the hospital (I'm talking anywhere from 5 weeks 6 months or more, depending on their course of treatment!) One mission, the organization I'm running for, directly benefits the patients and families that I work with and helps to make their hospital stay just a little more like home. In the past, they have dontated personal refridgerators to every patient room (we're a 20 bed unit), contributed heavily to reduce parking fee's for parents, sponsored a B.E.A.D.S. program that allows the kids to physically represent their course of treatment through beads, and so much more!
Long story short, on August 12th I'm going to be running 7miles in the Falmouth Road Race to support OneMission in their efforts to support the oncology floor and patients at CHB. My fundraising goal is $1,000.00 and I am confident that I can reach it (with all of your help, of course :-) ) Remember any little bit helps! Thank you and feel free to contact me if you have any questions or want to know more about One Mission.
