At the tender age of 14 months, Carrie Ann was diagnosed with a very serious brain tumor. By age 2 she had undergone 3 months of chemotherpy, 6 weeks of radiation therpy and 4 surgeries for various reasons. Right after Carrie turned 3, the tumor started to grow again and she underwent her 2nd tumor resection surgery and started on a new clinical study drug. Carrie came out of this surgery with facial weakness on the right side of her face. This caused us several new problems because she couldn't close her right eye. Right after Carrie turned 4, the Dr.'s discovered a new tumor growth and she underwent her 3rd tumor resection surgery. She came through this sugery with no side effects. At the age 5, she underwent her 4th and 5th tumor and resection and a second round of dangerous radiation therpy. In Jan. 2011, Carrie's tumor hemmoraged. She was paralyzed from the neck down. Carrie fought for her life until her body could take no more on September 3, 2011. Carrie was 7 1/2 years old.
As you can see, Carrie fought a long, courageous, 6 year battle. She had ungone so many treatments because the Dr.'s don't have the cure. If they did, this whole nightmare would have ended much differently for Carrie and our whole family.
This is why we are asking for your help to support the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation so that they can help give the Dr.'s a cure to honor Carrie and all the children like her. Time is precious, so we hope that you can help today. Thank you so very much for your support and please pass this on to a friend.
