Team Mummy's Fundraising Page
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
In early November of 2008, my mother was diagnosed with stage one breast cancer. While we were lucky that the tumor was found early, the news definitely shook us. My mum kept her head up throughout her treatments and is now looking better than ever, which is pretty darn good considering she's the cutest little lady in the world. The sad reality is that breast cancer is affecting so many women today. The American Cancer Society estimates that one out of every eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer at some point in their lives. While I'm sad my mummy is one of the unfortunate eight, I am so proud of her for maintaining her optimism and staying strong. Forget that little leprechaun guy...my mum should be the mascot for the Fighting Irish!
There isn't much listed on Firstgiving about the Keep a Breast Foundation. I chose this foundation because they focus their efforts on educating women for early detection. While I respect the Susan G. Komen Foundation immensely, I am already a large contributor, and so are the thousands of other runners who are raising money for the Susan G. Koman Foundation! Not many have heard of the Keep A Breast Foundation, and I thought this would be a great opportunity to get their name and message out there. Knowledge is power and I think the mission of the Keep A Breast Foundation is pivotal for women--like my Mum--to continually beat this awful, yet prevalent cancer.
Thanks to my offline contributors: Cara Walstrom and Cheryl Hays.

Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
