Let me tell how I came to the decision of being involved in the 5K.  I had been feeling recently that there was something I needed to do that I wasn't doing.  Then one day I had an inspiration to run in a race!  For those of you who know me, I'm not much of an exercise person so this came as a surprise to me...my husband too when I told him!  A few days later after voicing to my husband that I wanted to participate in a race I get an email from Samaritan's Purse with subject line "Run For A Purpose".  OK...so I was interested and had to read what they had to say.  They are participating in this race to raise funds to drill wells, construct water filters, and improve the sanitation and hygiene conditions in the villages of Niger.  I started to catch the vision immediatley but wanted confirmation from the Lord that I was truly hearing from him and was led to Isaiah 41: 17-18...

"The poor and needy search for water but there is none; their tongues are parched with thirst.  But I the LORD will answer them; I , the God of Israel, will not forsake them; I will make rivers flow on barren heights, and springs within the valleys.  I will turn the desert into pools of water, and the parched ground into springs."

Please help me raise as much money as I can to this wonderful organization!  I know you will be blessed for it!  If you want to run with me I am participating in the Cuties Luckie 5K on Saturday, March 16, 2013 with Team Samaritan's Purse and my group is called Team Redeem.
